03 Accounting audit
Accounting audit and
review of accounting records.
An accounting audit assesses whether the records are accurate, complete and internally consistent and identifies areas that need to be brought under control. The work is scoped around the purpose of the review, the period covered and the condition of the documentation.
It can be carried out before changing an accounting provider, taking over the books, closing the financial year, an investment or a business reorganisation.
Records and accounting policies
Review of accounting policies, completeness and chronology of entries and the way business transactions are recorded.
Balances and settlements
Analysis of receivables, payables, bank accounts, cash and the reconciliation of balances to source documents.
Assets and period-end adjustments
Review of fixed assets, inventories, accruals, provisions and other material accounting positions.
Closing and reporting
Assessment of the period-end close, trial balances and the consistency of data used to prepare the financial statements.
The audit results in a report setting out the findings, identified risks, priorities and recommended corrective and clean-up actions.
04 Tax audit
Protect your company’s tax position.
Complex and frequently changing tax rules, inconsistent interpretations and increased tax inspections make compliance difficult and expose businesses to costly mistakes.
Check whether your accounting team is handling tax settlements correctly and address potential issues before they are identified during an inspection.

05 Definition
What is a tax audit?
A tax audit is a review of a company’s settlements for compliance with applicable tax rules and potential areas of exposure. Depending on the agreed scope, it covers accounting documents, VAT, CIT and PIT returns, JPK files, the tax treatment of selected transactions and internal procedures.
The client receives findings, an assessment of identified risks and recommendations for further action. The scope of analysis and reporting is agreed before work begins, taking account of the audit objective, period covered and available documentation.
06 Scope
Scope of the tax audit.
The scope is tailored to the company profile, period reviewed and identified risk areas. It may cover routine settlements, unusual transactions and dealings with related parties.
- Review of sales and purchase transactions, cost settlements, contracts with counterparties and the tax treatment of business transactions.
- Analysis of unusual transactions, benefits provided to shareholders and other areas of elevated tax risk.
- Review of VAT, CIT, PIT and JPK filings, including timeliness and consistency across submitted returns.
- Identification and prioritisation of risks, followed by recommended corrective and organisational measures.
07 Process
How we work.
Every engagement begins by agreeing the objective, period reviewed, procedures and expected outcome. The timetable and fee are confirmed once we understand the size of the business, condition of the documentation and availability of the required data.
-
01
Initial discussion and scope
We define the objective, period covered, key risk areas and expected form of the final summary.
-
02
Documents and timetable
We provide a data request list and agree deadlines, responsible contacts and a secure channel for document exchange.
-
03
Analysis and explanations
For accounting and tax audits, we analyse the agreed records and data. During a financial statement audit, we coordinate document preparation, questions and explanations on the client’s side.
-
04
Findings and next steps
We discuss the findings, identified risks and recommendations and agree priorities and a corrective or clean-up action plan.
Information and documents are handled confidentially and exchanged through secure channels agreed with the client.
